Are those LCDs on the wall?
No, not on the station walls. They do have 'next train coming' LED screens in all of their stations, with text in both Japanese and English.
The other thing that I found particularly helpful was that the walls behind the train had arrows pointing in each direction and labeled with the next station in that direction.
Since I didnt know my way around, I could just look at a map before entering the station, then pick the correct side based on the next station.
